A pet can be one of the most wonderful companions you could ever have. They bring joy to our lives and ask for little in return. Find a new furry friend!
Maybe a cat?
Because of poverty and lack of education in both the Cancun and Playa del Carmen area, there is an abundance of unwanted street animals. Every year many are captured put to death at the local animal pounds. And many are left to roam the streets, sick and desperate for scraps of food.
There are no official adoption centers in either Cancun or Playa del Carmen except for the local animal pounds. We are hoping to see some centers open in the future. There are a few spay/neuter clinics in the general area a few times a year, but many more are needed as well as education regarding animal care and treatment. We’ve got a long way to go, but any one who can help just one animal is helping a lot.

They say mixed breed dogs are more intelligent.
