Post Closing
|
|
Congratulations! You have signed and closed on your new home in Mexico. But now what? Before purchasing your property, you found tons of information about the buying process. But what about after the closing?
What you need to know after the closing.
There are important issues that need to be taken care of. Here is a list of some important post closing issues:
Pick up the title “escrituras” when it comes out of public registry
Change of ownership in the assessor’s office
Change of ownership with the federal beach tax office (if the property is beach front)
Change the utilities in your name (or contract these services in case of a new construction)
Homeowner’s and hurricane insurance
With our Buyer’s Broker Advantage, we include all of these services to our buyers, which can mean a substantial savings of both time and money. Most brokers do not include this service, which means you either hire an attorney or you figure it out on your own.
You may also contract us for optional services, such as:
Paying your annual property taxes and beach taxes (if applicable)
Furniture shopping
Assistance with other types of insurance
